Memories held back in what we call our own
We travel time space to get us all back home

Dad’s and their Daughters

Hot humid days sitting in the Jersey sun.
I’m 8 years old, writing poetry, just for fun.

You in the garden, picking tomatoes, from the vine.
Mom’s in the kitchen preparing for supper time.

I breathe in the air now, the desert sun, upon my skin.
Thinking about our lives, wondering about times back then.

Chorus:
Dad’s and their daughters, it’s a mystery, it seems
Is this unyielding love? If only in my dreams.

If only in my dreams I could hear you say, that you’re proud
You’d look at me with kindness and be unafraid to say it out loud

Go back to riding, our horses, in the fields
I could be whole again, and you’d understand, how I feel

If only in my dreams could I feel my mother’s sweet embrace
I’d wake up to breakfast and see that smile, back on your face.

How many days seem to fly?
Chase every moment, I try.

Another 100 years with you

For all our dreams to come true.

Osa’s walk
